Comprised of friends Arc and Eris, Set The Sun is a modern metal outfit whose sound blends elements of electronic, metalcore, progressive rock, numetal, and industrial for a cinematic and emotive listening experience. The duo collaborates with other talented musicians they reference as "The Collective," which includes the likes of Clint Lowery (Sevendust), DJ Lethal (Limp Bizkit), Ryan Clark (Demon Hunter), Michael Lessard (The Contortionist), and producer Forrester Savell, among others.
In July 2022, Set The Sun dropped their debut EP entitled "In Absentia, Vol. 1." That initial release resonated with heavy music fans, with tracks like "The Way Back" (featuring DJ Lethal & TELLE) and "Invisible" (featuring Ryan Clark) racking up over 91,000 and 179,000 Spotify streams, respectively. Additionally, the corresponding music videos for "The Way Back" and "Invisible" have garnered a combined 140,000 YouTube views to date.
So far in 2023, Set The Sun has dropped three singles - "Arrival," "The Truth" (featuring Clint Lowery), and "A Better Way To Bleed" - off their forthcoming LP entitled "At War."
In this episode, Arc and Eris talk with Mike about their shared respect and admiration for the aforementioned Clint Lowery and Sevendust, how they got into heavy music when they were younger, making meaningful music that connects with listeners on an emotional level, persevering through anxiety and negative feelings, paying respect to the late, great Chester Bennington with "A Better Way To Bleed," and more.

With inspiration ranging from bands like Dayseeker, Bring Me The Horizon, and Bad Omens, After Hour Animals is a metalcore band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin that formed in 2020. Since releasing their EP "Remember This" on 3/20/20, After Hour Animals has taken their music from the shores of Lake Michigan to the globe. Their 2020 single "All It Takes" is nearing 1 million streams on Spotify alone, while their single "Dangerous" is nearing 500,000 Spotify streams since its December 2022 release.
In their latest single entitled "What I Wanted," After Hour Animals tackles the subject matter of losing someone you love, and the grief and reflection that comes with it. Since its June 2nd release, "What I Wanted" has amassed nearly 15,000 Spotify streams, while its accompanying music video has over 3,000 views on YouTube.
On this episode, Nik, Armon, and Bao from After Hour Animals talk with Mike about their friendship, how they got into music, the meaning behind "What I Wanted," the backstory behind their music video shoots, developing their own sound, and more.

Hailing from London, UK, Keeper is an alternative music artist that's continued to build a following since releasing his debut EP "Guess I'm Keeper" in March, 2021. Fusing elements of hyper pop, pop punk, post hardcore, emo rap, and 808s, Keeper's talent on the guitar and behind the mic have garnered the attention of media outlets like Alternative Press, BBC Introducing, Idobi Radio, Clash Magazine, New Noise Magazine, and more.
Despite his talent as a musician, Keeper tries not to take himself too seriously, which is evident in several of his music videos. So far in 2023, he's dropped the singles "Come Around" and "I Don't Even Know Myself," the latter of which features fellow rising UK music artist tmdistant. Both songs show Keeper's creative evolution, giving fans something to chew on prior to his forthcoming EP "The Greatest Hits...He Lied."
In this podcast, Keeper talks with Mike about his early love for Britney Spears, putting the time in on guitar, finding his voice as a vocalist, the difficulties of COVID which led him to starting Keeper, not taking himself too seriously, his sold-out London show with tmdistant back in June, his forthcoming EP "The Greatest Hits...He Lied," and more.

UJ is a guitarist and songwriter in The Sight Of Impact, a hard rock/nu-metalcore band out of Donna, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley. Over the years, The Sight Of Impact has shared the stage with the likes of Adema, Avatar, Eyes Set To Kill, and Hed PE. They also played at the Never Say Never Festival, which featured the likes of Deftones, Bring Me The Horizon, The Devil Wears Prada, and Asking Alexandria, among others.
Since 2021, The Sight Of Impact has dropped 7 singles, each of which has seen great success on streaming platforms. Their 2021 single "Ideal Life" featuring rising trap metal outfit Dropout Kings has received nearly 600,000 streams on Spotify alone. The Sight Of Impact's 2022 single "What Can You Say" became their first official radio single, reaching No. 2 on the "Mainstream Rock Indicator Most Added" chart. The band's latest single entitled "Left Behind" has already racked up over 12,000 Spotify streams since its release on May 5th.
In this episode, UJ chats with Mike about the band's continued rise and success over the past few years, including how grateful he is for the support from the fans, collaborating bands, and media outlets, the inspiration behind and making the music video for "Left Behind," working with Wade Concienne, influences like Korn, and more.

A longtime play-by-play announcer and sports media personality, Mik is a friend and former colleague of Mike's. In addition to his sports talk radio show "The Cheap Seats" (FM 100.7 The Ticket in Toledo, Ohio), Mik is also a sports broadcaster for Toledo Sports Network, which covers high school sports and other area sporting events in Northwest Ohio. Additionally, Mik was also the longtime play-by-play voice of the Toledo Cherokee, a junior hockey team that is part of the USPHL.
With this year marking the 25th anniversary of the Toledo Cherokee's 1997-98 Junior B National Championship team, Mik returned to the podcast to take Mike and listeners on a trip down memory lane of that championship run.

Rosenfeld plays lead guitar, and Ghiloni performs vocals in Bury the Darkness, a metalcore band from Phoenix, Arizona.
Bury the Darkness burst onto the metal scene in 2020 with their debut single "Break Me," which went on to amass over 667,000 Spotify streams alone. By March of 2023, the band had topped over one million streams across all platforms with their four singles. On 4/7/23, Bury the Darkness dropped their fifth single and first with Frankie on vocals entitled "Obey," which has already reached over 42,000 Spotify streams.

Shaw is a rapper from Silver Spring, Maryland who is part of the Big Eleanor Records family. Since 2019, he's released The Outlook (2019), The Rudy Tape (2020), MARIANA (2021), GOAT CHEESE (2022), my regards (2022), and February's EP entitled Fly Langston.
Based in Pennsylvania, Danny is the founder of Big Eleanor Records, and a talented musician in his own right. He plays drums in Advocaat and Homemade Ski Mask, bands both rooted in punk, but with completely different vibes and musical styles.
In this episode, Shaw and Danny speak with Mike about Fly Langston, including the artwork design, the jazz-style beats and lyrical themes, sports references, collaborators, and more. They also talk a little hoops and sneakers, as well as forthcoming live shows.
