On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Danny NoNo of Big Eleanor Records!
Based in Pennsylvania, Danny is not only a diehard Philadelphia sports fan, but also a beast of a drummer. He plays drums in Advocaat and Homemade Ski Mask, bands both rooted in punk, but with completely different vibes and musical styles.
Inspired by MF DOOM, Danny wanted to collaborate with different songwriters and create multiple musical projects under different names, which led to the birth of Big Eleanor Records. In 2021 alone, Advocaat's Dark Patterns EP, Homemade Ski Mask's Redballbluechicago EP, and Shaw Calhoune's MARIANA EP all released under the Big Eleanor Records imprint, in addition to a pair of skate decks.
In this episode, Danny talks with Mike about how he got into punk music, his ability and work ethic behind the drum kit, the impetus for starting Big Eleanor Records, the importance of educators, and more.
This episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman also features the song "Caffeine" off Advocaat's Dark Patterns, available where you get your music!
