On this episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Set The Sun!
Comprised of friends Arc and Eris, Set The Sun is a modern metal outfit whose sound blends elements of electronic, metalcore, progressive rock, numetal, and industrial for a cinematic and emotive listening experience. The duo collaborates with other talented musicians they reference as "The Collective," which includes the likes of Clint Lowery (Sevendust), DJ Lethal (Limp Bizkit), Ryan Clark (Demon Hunter), Michael Lessard (The Contortionist), and producer Forrester Savell, among others.
In July 2022, Set The Sun dropped their debut EP entitled "In Absentia, Vol. 1." That initial release resonated with heavy music fans, with tracks like "The Way Back" (featuring DJ Lethal & TELLE) and "Invisible" (featuring Ryan Clark) racking up over 91,000 and 179,000 Spotify streams, respectively. Additionally, the corresponding music videos for "The Way Back" and "Invisible" have garnered a combined 140,000 YouTube views to date.
So far in 2023, Set The Sun has dropped three singles - "Arrival," "The Truth" (featuring Clint Lowery), and "A Better Way To Bleed" - off their forthcoming LP entitled "At War."
In this episode, Arc and Eris talk with Mike about their shared respect and admiration for the aforementioned Clint Lowery and Sevendust, how they got into heavy music when they were younger, making meaningful music that connects with listeners on an emotional level, persevering through anxiety and negative feelings, paying respect to the late, great Chester Bennington with "A Better Way To Bleed," and more.
This episode of March Forth with Mike Bauman also features the aforementioned "A Better Way To Bleed" from Set The Sun, available where you get your music!
